This collection of North American P-51 Mustangs are all in 1/48th scale come from the ranges by the manufacturers of Tamiya, Hasegawa, Monogram and Accurate Miniatures. The variants show are the P-51A's, B's, Cs and D's as used by the USAF and RAF. The induvidual models details are listed below.
1: P-51D "Jane" of the 503rd FS based at RAF Fowlmere in the UK. Monogram kit with Microscale foil finish.
2: P-51D "Sherman Was Right" of the 84th FSQ based at RAF Duxford in the UK. Built from an old Otaki kit.
3: P-51D "Lou IV" 375th FS. Tamiya kit with tail swapfrom a P-51B to correct the model. Finished with Alclad.
4: P-51B "Shangri-La" 336th FS Don Gentile, RAF Debden, UK. Monogram kit with Tamiya decals.
5: RAF Mustang Mk1A (P-51A). Accurate Miniatures kit with discontinued decals from Microscale .
6: P-51B "Bald Eagle" of the 374th FS based at RAF Little Walden in the UK. Built from a Monogram kit with Microscale decals.
7: P-51D "Fickle Fanny" of the 357th FS. Revell kit with Microscale decals and finished with foil and Humbrol Silver.
8: P-51C "Babe" of the 352nd FS based at RAF Raydon in the UK. A Tamiya P-51B kit converted using a tail from a Tamiya P-51D, with decals from the spares box. |
