Fujimi 1/24th Scale Kit

 |
An icon from the seventies seen on many a boy's bedroom wall, the Lamborghini Countach. This model is one of three versions that Fujimi produce of the LP400. The kit use for this model is the middle kit with opening doors, were as the top kit includes engine detail. Apart from having no upper engine detail, this is still a nice kit.
During my search on the internet for research prior to building, I found some photos of a yellow example with brown interior. So this became the prototype for this project.
The model is basically built "Out Of Box", but I added some braided hose to the brake calipers. To the interior, seatbelt webbing was used with scratch-built buckles and bracket from plasticard. Tamiya matt brown was used for the interior carpet with a Humbrol gloss tan coated with satin clear for the leather seats and paneling.
Making the doors operate is a fiddly process and after several attempts, I changed the wire's shape to make the process easier. When the wheels were mounted, they protruded from the body too much. So to rectify this, the centre hubs on the rims were trimmed by a couple of millimetres on a mini lathe allowing them to sit under the body further.
The paint used for the bodyshell is Halfords Fiat Broom Yellow with Halfords Clear Laquer.
